Agency Universe Study Future One, a collaboration of the Big I and leading independent agency companies, released the top 10 findings from the Agency Universe Study. Hailed as the most comprehensive of the independent agency system. The Sudy surveys a wealth of issues about independent agencies operating in the U.S. including their numbers, revenue base and sources, number of employees, ownership, mix of business, diversification of products, technology uses, non-insurance income sources, and marketing methods. Conducted every two years, the most current release is the 2018 report. New report released soon.
Market Share Report Annual market share reviews of property/casualty insurance premium data provided by A.M. Best Company. In comparing these numbers along with other data, research reports and anecdotal information gathered during the year the Big I is impressed with the creative, aggressive actions of some independent agencies (IAs) and their carrier partners to retain and grow market share in one or more lines of business. And some IA carriers post impressive expense ratios relative to direct channels, debunking the myth that it must cost more to distribute through independent agents. |
